Nuit Blanche Brussels

Nuit Blanche (which means "sleepless night" or "white night" in French), is a cultural event that is both artistic and popular. This eighth edition of the event aims at (re)discovering or (re)conquering this urban environment from a new perspective. It is a night to get together, to share unusual and creative aspects of the contemporary creative scene in a warm and festive atmosphere that encourages discovery and wonder.

Nuit Blanche is aimed at opening up the city to the world of the night, by encouraging access to numerous places for a wide audience. This approach really is open to the city, to its inhabitants and to creativity. The success of Nuit Blanche in Paris since its creation in 2002, led several European capitals to organize their own Nuit Blanche.

Brussels also elaborated a charter for Nuit Blanche with the other capitals. The charter defines the common vision of the cities on the event. Organized by the Culture Service of the City of Brussels and BrufĂȘte, 'Nuit Blanche' is thus a cultural event open to all and free, at once artistic and popular, that incites to (re)discover or (re)conquer the urban environment with a new point of view. 'Nuit Blanche' privileges the urban creation in all its forms, brings various facets of the City alive and gives a strange new view on the public place.
