about the exhibition:
LAb[au] is an artist-trio constituted of Manuel Abendroth, Jérôme Decock and Els Vermang. The exhibition 'Writing, drawing, painting' displays recent works. The exhibition title refers to classical notions of art, set into a contemporary and concrete perspective.

Their work displays the themes of colour, light, form and motion and is characterized by concepts and systems. LAb[au]'s experimental and innovative art practice focuses on fundamental research on contemporality in art while questioning nowadays materials, tools and methods.

The acclaimed trio's work is exhibited and published worldwide.

Recent highlights include Signal To Noise's actual screening exhibition at the MoMA, PixFlow's exhibition at the Venice Biennale and (k)Nit's selection for the V&A. In 2014 LAb[au] is inaugurating permanent artworks in Belgium, Canada and France.

The exhibition is taking part of CTM festival and TransMediale festival.

Die Ausstellung " zeichnen, malen, schreiben" zeigt jüngste Arbeiten des belgischen Künstleratelier LAb[au]. Der Titel der Ausstellung nimmt Bezug auf klassische Vorstellungen von Kunst, die mit einer zeitgenössischen und konkrete Sichttweise konfrontiert werden. LAb[au]'s Arbeiten beschäftigen sich so mit den Themen Farbe, Form und Bewegung, charakterisiert durch Prozesse und Systeme. LAb[au]'s experimentelle und innovative Kunstpraxis konzentriert sich auf grundlegende Fragen der Kunst und hinterfragt so den Zeitgeist, während aktuelle Materialen, Werkzeuge und Methoden herangezogen werden.

LAb[au] Arbeiten werden international publiziert und ausgestellt. Kürzliche Höhepunkte waren die Präsentation der Signal to Noise Installation im Rahmen des Screening Programms des MoMA, New York, Pix Flow's Ausstellung im Rahmen der Biennale in Venedig und die Auswahl von (k)Nit's für das V & A, London. 2014 wird LAb[au] permanente Installationen in Belgien, Kanada und Frankreich realisieren.
