Fashion can be considered as a reflection of developments in society. That's what makes it interesting to us at least, not the fact that one needs to buy the latest fad to be part of an in-crowd. CODE documents, reports and inspires. It doesn't dictate.
CODE is a platform for documentary fashion photography. Fashion photography with real people wearing authentic styles.
CODE therefore is a contemporary fashion magazine with clear opinions on what is interesting about fashion and how it can be shown. With a love for and understanding of what's happening 'on the streets', but as interested in young designers or ready to wear. Fashion reality right now anyhow is a pretty blurred affair. Nothing wrong with that.
Nowadays, brands are part of modern culture, personal style and for many they are about identity. Therefore CODE reports on brands.
Frequency & Ciculation:
The first issue of CODE was published in November 2005. CODE is published quarterly, four times a year. CODE has a circulation of 22.000 and is distributed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Tokyo and Paris.
