Patrice Mugnier is a French artist who works and lives in Paris. In his opinion, creation is a confrontation between human sensations and digital territories. His works are characterized by the use of technology and programming while he explores the more primitive aspects of human nature. He rejects the notion of the virtual and highlights the consequences of the hybridization of reality.
As a video director he started by working in TV design, produced films for Museums as well as personal projects, which explore the relationship between image and music. This interest has led him to work on live video performances and interactive installations.
Since 1999, he has also been regularly collaborating as Lecturer in the French National Art School, ENSAD. In 2007, he founded ITR, a program which explores the consequences of real time computing in artistic performances.
