The MAAC support young creation. It appears as a professional tool for the artists and their productions. It also addresses the children via educational workshops.The Maison d'Art Actuel des Chartreux ( MAAC) is situated in the heart of the Dansaert district. The MAAC is involved in the defence and the promotion of the current arts.
The objectives of the MAAC:
•allow the young plastic artists to confront their works to a public
•stimulate contemporary creation
•facilitate a diversification of the approaches and the disciplines
•develop tools of mediation Main activities
The 3 main spheres of activity of the MAAC are:
•artists' residences
•exhibitions
•educational workshops
Artists' residences Painting, drawing, video, photography, work of the textile: the MAAC counts 7 workshops today. Workshops are above all an individual workplace but also of exchange, search and exhibition in the field of the plastic arts and of the contemporary creation.
Exhibitions The MAAC develops several sorts of exhibition:
•exhibitions "duet" or "collective" •
exhibitions in association with the other structures
•personal exhibitions
