Elisa received her PhD in interactive arts from the Science Technology and Art Research centre, directed by Roy Ascott at the University of Plymouth, UK.
Her research interests comprise design and creative practices. She has combined academic and professional activities in digital media, interaction design, and community informatics since 1996. Her interdisciplinary work is currently focused on metadesign and issues of public authoring, collective storytelling and place making, with an active interest in the area of new heritage (e.g. collective memories and affective geographies).
Research topics include: cross-media interaction, participative software systems, user-generated content, collaborative mapping and visualization, and context and emotion aware interfaces.
