A key fgure in optical art, or "Op Art", Victor Vasarely featured in the artworld of the second half of the 20th century with his prolifc geometric abstracts. A true master of composition by combining, ftting and assembling, Vasarely interchanged colours, shapes and visually dazzling geometric systems. An accomplished artist committed to a total art vision. Through this collection of abstract
paintings from all over Europe, the mesmerizing world of Victor Vasarely offers striking optical effects.
Under the curatorship of Serge Lemoine, the exhibition is a unique tribute to this great artist, revealing the talent of a great painter of singularly fruitful and radically modern works ? now and forever.
Within the exhibition Vasarely:
LAb[au] is an artist-trio constituted of Manuel Abendroth, Els Vermang and Jérôme Decock. Their work displays the themes of colour, light, form and motion and is characterized by concepts and systems. LAb[au]'s experimental and innovative art practice focuses on fundamental research on contemporality in art while questioning nowadays materials, tools and methods. LAb[au]'s feature outlines Vasarely's heritage by confronting the patterns emerging from physical and optical motion.
