The concept stands for the way visual, sonic and spatial patterns can be processed using the multiplication of simple elements. It is the creation of a system where each of these elements is instructed with rules out of which complex behavior or visual patterns emerge. Results are motifs which are signs of these processes and which respectively point to the system as being the content, the intention, and meaning of the artwork. The concept fuses the term of motif with the binary digits 0 and 1 and stands for an art of systems expressing the inherent logics of its media.
