m0t1fs

LAb[au], an artists group located in Brussels, exhibits at numeriscausa gallery several generative artworks produced between 2006 and 2009. Grouped under the title "m0t1fs", pattern in English. These works are all based on simple elements which principal qualities are to be indivisible units, each one defining a given scale of space: pixels, vectors, bits or frames. Thanks to their multiplication and their progression in time, these elements are driven by simple and non random rules of interaction in between them or in between one of these elements and its spatial-temporal context, which leads to complex patterns whose aesthetics are direct transpositions of its algorithmic processes. These generative works take part of LAb[au]'s general research on an aesthetic/language specific to digital technologies/media.
