Annually the argosfestival offers a stage to all kinds of artistic forms of expression in the realm of audio-visual media, a domain which is subject to constant change. The interdisciplinary programme grinds away at the boundaries: film and video, new media, visual art and performance, forms of electronic music and media art in the context of sound culture, move alongside, but also through one another.
In the brief period since its outset in 2001 the festival has grown into one of the main events in its field in Europe. The festival has become a stimulus towards dialogue, fusion and experiment. Each edition of the festival presents a wide variety of national and international curatorships, retrospectives and discourse.
The argosfestival is a member festival of The European Coordination of Film Festivals (ECFF), a network of 200 audio-visual festivals.
In Belgian Focus productions realised in our own country are brought to the notice.
Four themed programmes constitute the backbone for the hybrid programme.
